The Fourth of July -- Part #2

We went to the city park to watch the fireworks on the 4th of July! We arrived a few hours early and relaxed in the perfect evening weather.

Patriotic princesses
We took the kids over to the playground to kill time and burn off energy.
Sweet Anna
Silly Logan
And, um... Tanner.
Darkness descended...

Aunt Heather passed out glow sticks.  I mean Tron discs.  I mean glow sticks.

It was a nice show. We had a great time and were glad we made the last minute decision to forego the traffic to go see the fireworks at the Stadium of Fire. This was perfect, and we were home in bed lickety split right after the finale.

Fun night!

The Fourth of July -- Part #1

We spent the daylight hours of Independence Day hanging out, playing with toys and games.

His Royal Hotness was home from work on the Fourth of July. He made the most of his full house by shooting air soft pistols with the kids and allowing himself to be recruited for a round of Ticket to Ride.

Crew was so happy with the endless commotion of our memorable visit.  He wandered from one thrilling adventure to another.
Am I really this far behind on my blog?  REALLY?  Grooooaaannn....

Street Rats

Our neighbors invited us over to enjoy their annual street fireworks during the week of Independence Day.  The kids watched the fireworks with fascination and enthusiasm.  Heather and I watched the sparks with our hands on our cell phones, ready to call the fire department when our neighborhood went up in flames.  The relief I felt when the display ended cannot be overstated.

Rec Center!

We took everyone to the rec center for four hours of Fun In The... um... Rec Center.  Shrug.

In the Lazy River...
Leap Frogging...
Super sliders!
Wow, they had a lot of fun!  We were there so long and wore them out so completely that Crew took a 90-minute nap in my arms on the side of the pool while my toes pruned.

After our afternoon at the rec center, we tossed all the boys we could fit into the tub.
Weirdos.  LOVE 'em.

Airsoft!

While the princesses were making matching nightgowns, cousin Julian took the boys out to the backyard for some airsoft shooting!
Being patient and waiting for your turn can be so boring.
They loved it, loved it, loved it.
Then the girls wanted in on the action!
Aunt Heather gave Kinley some pointers on sighting.
They were awesome.  I totally want airsoft guns now.
"Kinley Get Your Gun" was a natural.
The mamas may have taken their turn as well...

I shouldn't brag but... we were awfully good too  :)

Daytime Swimming!

The two "big" kids left us early Monday morning to attend a week of EFY in Salt Lake City and we missed them very much!  The rest of us spent the week doing many grand adventures ourselves, including lots (and lots) of swiming!
Fun for everyone!

Church with the Cousins

Our cousins came to church with us the Sunday that they were here. You've never seen 10 kids sit so reverently during sacrament meeting in all your days. We divided and distributed cousins for Primary and they all had such a fun time together.

Aren't they a handsome bunch?  (Crew was already speeding home with Daddy when we took this picture).
Coming home from a great afternoon of meetings.
The Princesses had matching hair-do's, compliments of Aunt Megan.  The little boys got some morning races in!
A great Sunday!

Night Swim!

After a day spent touring Temple Square in the scorching July sun, we cooled off with a dip in the pool!

It's so weird that people can tell we're sisters...

Cowabunga!
It was a long, full, awesome, super duper fun day.

Church History Museum

Before we left Temple Square, we took a tour of the Children's Display at the LDS Church History Museum. Such a treat for the kids!

Fun for boys...
Fun for girlies...

Fun for everyone!
