Crew's First Day of School

Crew's academic schedule has changed a lot this year.  He has gone from 4 hours of preschool per week to ten hours.  The first couple of weeks were a challenge for him, and it will always be hard to get him out the door during those weeks when his siblings are off-track from their own school, but overall he has adjusted extremely well.

Crew attends a special needs preschool three mornings each week and then he attends a typical preschool two afternoons per week!  We put him in with the three-year-olds in the afternoon, since we feel that placement suits his abilities, development, and current academic needs.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are very long days for our little guy, but we are so proud of how far he has come and how much progress he continues to make!

He will be old enough to start kindergarten next year, but we are considering all of our options, including holding him back and enrolling him into private pre-k for a year.  There are so many delicate components to prayerfully consider and we want whatever is best for his long-term happiness and success.

Crew's First Day of Preschool this year was.... very sunny!

It's a Girl Thing

I'm just glad that Kinley is no longer giving her friends free hair cuts.

Marker Faces

Since the kids are too young (and in some cases, the wrong gender) to grow impressive facial hair, they improvised for an afternoon!

Kabob Kids

Kinley and Tanner threaded up some mushroom kabobs for the grill!  Put them on skewers, rub them down with a little olive oil; salt and pepper them before throwing them on the grill!  Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm!
And perfect for a little pre-dinner sword-fighting!
